Eastern Illinois-San Diego State Postgame Notes

San Diego State is now 46-40-5 in season-opening games.
<>BR> The Aztec defense has forced two or more turnovers in three of its last four games.
SDSU allowed an opponent to return a punt for a touchdown for the first time since the 2011 New Orleans Bowl. San Diego State has allowed just four since at least 1996.
The Aztecs have received the ball first in 16 straight games, dating back to last season, the longest streak in the nation.
SDSU falls to 10-5 in the Rocky Long era when scoring first.
San Diego State drops to 11-3 in the Rocky Long era when leading after the first quarter.
San Diego State falls to 1-1 all-time against Eastern Illinois. The Aztecs defeated the Panthers, 40-7, on Oct. 6, 2001, in their first-ever meeting.

Threw for a career-high 318 yards.
Attempted a career-high 63 passes thrown and had a personal-record 27 completions.
* Colin Lockett, Sr., WR | (8 rec., 98 yds.) | (1 att., 48 yds., 1 TD)
Had his first career rushing touchdown and 15th overall (11 receiving, 3 kickoff returns).
The 48-yard touchdown run was a career long (previous high was 43 vs. Wyoming in 2011).
Had eight receptions, his most since he had a career-high eight vs. Boise State on Nov. 9, 2011.
His 48 yards rushing eclipsed his 2012 total of 42, which he accomplished on four carries.
* Ezell Ruffin, Jr., WR | (4 rec., 91 yds.)
Had four catches, which was one off his career high set vs. Army in 2012.
His 91 yards are his second-most of his career.
* Wes Feer, Sr., K | (4-for-4 FGs, 1-for-1 PATs)
Was 4-for-4 on field-goal attempts in his first Division I tries.
The four field goals were the most by an Aztec kicker since J.C. Mejia had four vs. Wyoming on Oct. 25, 2003.
Had six kickoffs that averaged 63.0 yards. Three of his six went for touchbacks.
* Joel Alesi, Jr, P | (5 punts, 232 yds., 46.4 avg., 3 I20, 2 50+)
Three of his five punts were inside the 10, including one at the 1-yard line.
Two of his five punts went for at least 50 yards, giving him three for his career.
Aztecs who earned their first career Division I start (4) today included: TE Robert Craighead, RT Terry Poole, RG Nico Siragusa and CB J.J. Whittaker. Jordan Smith also started at center for the first time (he started one time last year at tight end).
Aztecs who played in their first career Division I game (7) today included: Daniel Brunskill, Damontae Kazee, Terry Poole, Donnel Pumphrey, Nico Siragusa, Billy Vaughn, Jr., J.J. Whittaker
Donnel Pumphrey and Chad Young each had their first career kickoff return.
Donnel Pumphrey also had his first career carries.
Damontae Kazee forced his first career fumble in his first career game, while Vaness Harris had the second of his career.
Nat Berhe had his third career fumble recovery, while Eric Pinkins had his second.
Billy Vaughn, Jr., blocked a PAT in his first career game.
