Is the starter at free safety entering the season...Had a strong spring as he continued the transition from offense to defense...Had starts on both sides of the ball in 1999.

1999: Started the season at quarterback, but saw most of his action at the strong safety spot...Opened his junior campaign by throwing for 118 yards and connecting on two touchdown strikes on 8-for-17 passing against South Florida...Also had a 43-yard run against the Bulls...Completed 8-of-21 passes for 93 yards against Illinois...Saw limited action in SDSU’s 41-13 win over Kansas and at USC ...Made his defensive debut at Utah, tallying 10 tackles (four solo)...Broke up a pass and assisted on two tackles against BYU...Finished the season by recording four solo tackles and assisting on two others vs. Wyoming...Also broke up a pass against the Cowboys.
