Coaching Experience -Has 13 years of experience as a collegiate coach with 10 seasons on the defensive side of the ball. -In 2007, helped SDSU tight ends combine for 38 catches for 310 yards and two scores, a year after the position produced just 10 catches for 107 yards. -Tutored Aztec Tyler Schmitt , who was the only long snapper taken in the 2008 NFL Draft. Schmitt was a sixth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks. -Last season, SDSU punter Michael Hughes earned honorable mention All-America honors and ranked 11th nationally in punting average. Place-kicker Garrett Palmer was 8-for-8 on field-goal attempts during conference play and was 13-for-15 overall with six from 40 or more yards. -Worked at Temple University from 2002-05, where he coached both the inside linebackers and defensive line. The Owls were ranked 15th nationally in run defense in 2002, behind Big East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, defensive tackle Dan Klecko. -Spent seven years at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1996-2002), tutoring the Blazers' tight ends, running backs, safeties, defensive ends and outside linebackers. -In 2001, UAB led the nation in rushing defense (57.3 yards per game) and was fifth in total defense (265.9 yards per game). -Coached four Blazers selected in the NFL draft, including first rounder, defensive end Bryan Thomas, and second-round pick, defensive tackle Eddie Freeman. -Was a graduate assistant coach at North Carolina in 1995, when the Tar Heels won the CarQuest Bowl and finished with a 7-5 record. Neinas worked under current Texas head coach Mack Brown at North Carolina. -Started his coaching career as a student assistant under head coach Bob Stull, at his alma mater, Missouri, from 1993-94.
