Coaching Experience -Has over 27 years of experience at the collegiate level, including stints at Kansas St., Oklahoma St., Iowa and San Diego St. Offensive coordinator at the I-A level for 12 seasons. -In 2007, the Aztecs ranked 28th nationally in passing offense, throwing for over 3,000 yards. SDSU also led the Mountain West Conference in red zone offense, scoring nearly 90 percent of the time. -A year ago, quarterback Kevin O'Connell became the first Aztec to lead the team in both rushing (408 yards) and passing (3,063 yards), ranking in the top 30 nationally in passing average and total offense. He was one of three Aztec offensive players selected in the 2008 NFL Draft. - Prior to his arrival at San Diego State, Miller was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at K-State from 2003-05, helping the Wildcats to the 2003 Big 12 Championship and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. The 2003 squad averaged 37 points and 441 yards of total offense per contest. - Defensive ends coach for the 2002 Kansas State squad which led the nation in total defense (243.9 ypg.) and scoring defense (10.6 ppg.) en route to a 10-2 record and a No. 8 final national ranking. - Also was the Wildcats' offensive tackles coach in 1999 and assistant for football operations in 2001. - One-year stint at Oklahoma State in 2000, as the Cowboys' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. -Head coach at Missouri State (I-AA) from 1995-98. Guided the Bears to a 21-23 mark in four seasons, including a 7-4 record in 1996. -Miller was head coach Bill Snyder's first hire at Kansas State in 1989, and helped lay the foundation for one of the biggest turnarounds in college football history. -Served as the Wildcats' offensive coordinator for six seasons and also worked with the quarterbacks and wide receivers. Promoted to assistant head coach in 1991, the year K-State recorded its first winning season in nine years. - Spent 10 seasons as Iowa's recruiting coordinator under coaching legend Hayden Fry. Assisted future K-State head coach Bill Snyder with the quarterbacks and wide receivers. -Iowa went to eight straight bowl games from 1981 to 1988, won two Big Ten Championships and achieved a No. 1 national ranking during the 1985 campaign. -Started his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Iowa in 1978. Also coached at the prep level at Plainfield and Eagle Grove High Schools.
