SAN DIEGO -
No. 19/17 San Diego State will put the finishing touches on its non-conference schedule on Wednesday when first-time opponent CSU Bakersfield visits Viejas Arena.
Game time is set for 7 p.m. PT and the contest will be broadcast by Time Warner Cable SportsNet. Steve Quis and Jon Crispin will have the call on television. The non-conference tilt can also be heard on radio on AM 600 KOGO and 101 KGB with Ted Leitner providing the description.
The Aztecs will look to extend their nation's best 30-game winning streak vs. schools from the Golden State. So far this season, SDSU has defeated seven schools from California, including at USC and against UCLA and San Francisco at neutral sites. The game vs. USF occurred at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic where San Diego State took out USF and Indiana State, before falling to No. 3/3 Arizona.
The 68-67 loss to the Wildcats, who needed a last-second blocked shot from behind by Nick Johnson on Chase Tapley's wide-open lay-up attempt, snapped SDSU's 11-game overall winning streak, 11-game non-conference winning streak, 11-game winning streak vs. the Pac-12 Conference and 24-game December winning streak.
With the loss in its last outing, San Diego State is looking to respond with a victory for the second time this season. Earlier this year, the Aztecs dropped their opener vs. No. 9/9 Syracuse and answered the call by beating San Diego Christian, 91-57.
