Dec. 2, 2012
SAN DIEGO -
SDSU Game Notes
The Last Meeting
December 6, 1991
Austin, Texas Game time is set for 7 p.m. PT and the contest will be broadcast by Time Warner Cable SportsNet. The non-conference tilt can also be heard on radio on AM 600 KOGO and 101 KGB. The Aztecs, which completed their 21st consecutive winning month after finishing November with a 4-1 mark, looks to continue another lengthy streak. After defeating No. rv/24 UCLA on the first of December in Anaheim at the John R. Wooden Classic, San Diego State looks to extend its December winning streak to 19 games on Monday. The 18-game winning streak in the final month of the calendar year is the third-longest active streak in America, trailing only Syracuse (24) and Missouri (21). SDSU finds itself in this position after an impressive showing against the Bruins. The Aztecs shot 50.0 percent from the floor for the game, including a scorching 60.0 percent in the second half. San Diego State connected on a season-high-tying 11 three-pointers and made a season-best 92.9 percent of its attempts at the charity stripe (13-for-14). Individually, Jamaal Franklin led all players with 28 points, marking his 27th consecutive double-figure scoring effort (third-longest nationally). Junior classmate Xavier Thames added 19 on the strength of a career-high five threes. DeShawn Stephens (hip pointer; 12 pts., 6 rebs.) and Chase Tapley (knee; 9 pts., 3 asts.), meanwhile, returned from injury. |
