San Diego State and Hampton to Play for Great Alaska Shootout Championship
San Diego State, winners of three straight, will play for the Great Alaska Shootout championship on Saturday night against first-time opponent Hampton. Game time for the title tilt is 9 p.m. PT/8 p.m. AT at Sullivan Arena.

The Aztecs come into the game after a dominating 75-56 performance over Seattle in the semifinals of the tournament. Hampton, meanwhile, rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit, went up by 12 in the second period and eventually let Portland State force overtime before pulling away from the Vikings to win 77-71.

Game Tidbits:
* San Diego State is in search of its third straight undefeated effort at a multiple-game in-season event. The Aztecs went 3-0 at the 2007 World Vision Classic and the 2006 Shamrock Invitational.

* SDSU will be looking to win its first tournament-style event during the Steve Fisher era. The Aztecs finished in third place at the 2005 BP Top of the World Classic and the 2003 EA Sports Maui Invitational and in second at the 2001 Ford Red Raider Classic.

* Senior forward Ryan Amoroso is looking to win his second Great Alaska Shootout title in his career. The Burnsville, Minn., native, who won it in 2005 with Marquette, could become one of the only, if not the only player to win multiple tournament titles.

* The Aztecs are on pace to enter the tournament's all-time top 10 for fewest points allowed. SDSU has allowed an average of 57.0 points and would give up the sixth-fewest point (171) if the law of averages holds true.
