2012-13 SDSU Men's Hoops Home Slate is Sold Out
Aug. 28, 2012
SAN DIEGO - The 2012-13 San Diego State men's basketball home schedule is sold out. Although there are no season tickets available, there is a chance a limited amount of individual tickets will be made available at later date for those games taking place during winter break.
The Aztecs are tentatively set to play seven home games prior to the start of Mountain West action. Once SDSU steps into league play, it will play eight games inside Viejas Arena against MW competition. The Scarlet and Black's non-conference schedule will be released when it is finalized.
This marks the first time in program history in which the entire season has been sold out. Over the last five seasons, San Diego State's average home attendance has increased. In 2007-08, the Aztecs attracted 6,760 fans before upping their average to 7,023 in 2008-09. The following season, 2009-10, SDSU played before an average crowd of 7,227, which at the time was a school record. During San Diego State's record-setting 2010-11 campaign, the Aztecs shattered the program record when 11,668 fans stepped foot inside Viejas Arena. And then last season, SDSU set the bar even higher when an average of 12,096 came to watch the eventual back-to-back Mountain West regular-season champions.
Over the last two seasons, San Diego State has sold out 24 out of a possible 34 home games (13 in 2010-11; 11 in 2011-12) and played in front of more than 10,800 fans at Viejas Arena 32 times. The Aztecs have also led all California Division I universities in average home attendance the last two years and were ranked 29th nationally in 2011-12 after earning a No. 30 ranking in 2010-11.
