SDSU-BYU Men's Basketball Tickets Going Fast

Feb. 23, 2007

SAN DIEGO - At the close of business of Friday, fewer than 1,000 general public tickets remain for Saturday's men's basketball game between San Diego State and 21st-ranked Brigham Young. Game time is set for 3 p.m. PT at Cox Arena.

Fans can purchase tickets throughout the night online at goaztecs.com and at Ticketmaster outlets and by phone at (619) 220-8497 (until 9 p.m.). The Cox Arena ticket office will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Brigham Young enters Saturday's contest having won eight consecutive games and boasts a 21-6 record overall, including an MWC best 11-2 conference mark. San Diego State owns a 19-8 record overall and an 8-5 league record.

The Aztecs, who defeated 15th-ranked Air Force 62-41 earlier this month, have won six of their last seven games and are looking to claim a second consecutive victory over a ranked opponent for the first time since 1988 and defeat multiple ranked teams in the same month for the first time since December, 1978. A win would give SDSU consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time in the school's Division I era and the first time in 40 years.

The basketball game is just part of an exciting day for Aztec fans, which will begin with a free event, the Aztec Insider at 1 p.m. at Peterson Gym. The 10th annual event will give fans an opportunity to hear men's basketball head coach Steve Fisher, director of athletics Jeff Schemmel and football head coach Chuck Long talk about San Diego State athletics.

In addition, the purchase of a men's basketball ticket will allow fans to gain free admission to the softball's Aztec Invitational (all day) and baseball's game against UC Riverside (6 p.m.). The SDSU women's tennis match against Rice scheduled for noon is also free.

Saturday's San Diego State Home Schedule:
*11:30 a.m. - Softball: Siena at San Diego State (SDSU Softball Stadium)
