Team Notes
San Diego State wins its 25th straight vs. teams from California, which is the longest active streak nationally.
The Aztecs' 25-game winning streak vs. California schools breaks a first-place tie with Gonzaga for the longest such streak since 1996-97.
SDSU defeats a member of the Pac-12 Conference for the 10th consecutive outing. The win improves the third-longest active streak (Kansas - 16, Connecticut - 13).
The Aztecs have won two straight vs. USC after posting one win the previous 11 meetings.
The win is San Diego State's first over USC in Los Angeles in seven tries.
SDSU won the non-conference road game without the services of all-conference senior guard Chase Tapley (knee)... The Aztecs were also without DeShawn Stephens for 35 of the 40 minutes after the senior forward suffered a hip pointer early in the game... Stephens returned for one minute in the first half after suffering the injury, was subbed out, and never returned.
San Diego State won at Galen Center, which a place where USC has had success. In the history of the building, entering tonight, USC was 69-32 overall and 36-11 vs. non-conference foes.
The Aztecs were 7-of-15 from three-point distance and have made 18 in the last two games (18-for-42)... In the previous three games, SDSU was 9-for-59 from behind the arc.
