Postgame quotes from the San Diego State at Missouri State game

San Diego State Head Coach Steve Fisher

"Good players make important plays and Brandon has made a lot of them in his career. Probably none of them more significant than the one he made tonight. He has made shots like that before and he has had runs where he has been magical with his offense. I was equally proud of how he dug in and guarded and fought over ball screens.

"After the loss to Colorado State, I talked to several of our players individually. Brandon set the tone with the he practiced and he set the tone tonight.

"I thought we defended really effectively and got ourselves some opportunities. If we had taken better care of the ball I would have said it was a good performance in every aspect. We fought and found a way to make plays and when we had to have a basket someone stepped up and made a basket for us.

"We got pretty good play off the bench from (John) Pastorek and J.V. (Jer'Vaughn Johnson). They gave us a handful of minutes that were productive. I thought Kyle (Spain) came in and was a warrior at both ends of the floor for us.

"We are excited that we are playing another game. San Diego State has never won more than one postseason game in one year (in the 37 seasons at the Division I level). We are aiming to try and change that."

SDSU senior guard Brandon Heath

"I felt really good tonight. My teammates did a great job of getting me the ball. It feels good to get a win.

"Coach Fisher called a timeout and the plan was for me to come off a ball screen with ten seconds left on the shot clock. They played the ball screen really well and I was lucky to make a play."
