As a Junior (2003-2004)
Played in 29 of 30 games during the season, missing only the UC San Diego game (12-6-03) due to a shoulder injury... Made 11 starts during the campaign, the sixth highest total on the squad... Averaged 4.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 17.6 minutes per contest... Recorded three double-digit scoring games, including a career high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting against Troy State (11-30-03)... In 28 games he produced far more statistically than in his freshman campaign (sophomore vs. freshman seasons: points: 156-31, rebounds: 72-18, assists: 49-7, minutes played: 474-120)... As a Freshman (2001-02)
Only San Diego State freshman to see action during the 2001-02 season... Played in 20 games... Did not play in the final eight contests as the rotation became tighter in the final month of the season... Made major progress during the season, connecting on 11 of his final 23 field-goal attempts (47.8 percent) after connecting on just one of his first 10 attempts (10.0 percent of the season)... Got a key offensive rebound and subsequent lay-in late in the second half as the Aztecs went on to defeat NCAA Tournament-bound Hawai'i (12-14-01)... Scored in consecutive games three different times in the season... Committed just four turnovers in 120 minutes of action (one turnover every 30 minutes)... Tallied six points in the contest at New Mexico State (11-24-01) and followed that up with a career-high 10 points against UC San Diego (11-27-01)... Also had three steals in 14 minutes in the contest against the Aggies... Scored 31 points in 120 minutes of action during the season (average of 10.3 points per 40 minutes of action)... Had as many blocked shots (4) and as many steals (4) as he did turnovers (4) on the season... Born Jan. 21, 1982, in Los Angeles... Majoring in criminal justice administration... Listed as one of the top 100 prep players nationally, Johnson is a gifted athlete who received attention from the likes of Michigan and Boston College... Originally signing with Washington State, Johnson remained at Crenshaw High in 2000-01 and signed with the Aztecs in April of 2001... Listed as the number two shooting guard in the 2000 Southern California prep class, behind DeShawn Stevenson, who bypassed college and went directly from Washington Union High in Fresno, Calif., to the National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz... Johnson joins Jim Roban as the only players ever to wear No. 0 for the Aztecs.
