San Diego - San Diego State head baseball coach Jim Dietz has announced the signing of 12 recruits for the 2003 season.

The class includes three athletes named among Baseball America's Top 100 Recruits: pitcher Hayden Penn (#29), shortstop James Guerrero (#70) and outfielder Curt Mendoza (#96). Ten of the incoming players (including five local standouts) will be freshman while the other two are currently in junior college.
