Strasburg To Start For U.S. Olympic Team vs. Cuba

Aug. 21, 2008

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior Stephen Strasburg will take the hill as the starting pitcher for the U.S. Olympic baseball team in its semifinal matchup against perennial power Cuba Friday night in Beijing. That game can be seen live only on the Internet beginning at 3:00 a.m. (Pacific time) Friday morning.

Strasburg will look to follow up his performance against the Netherlands on August 14 when he allowed just one hit and struck out 11 over seven innings in the U.S. team's 7-0 win over the Dutch.

To view the game as it happens, click here to go to the Olympic baseball schedule page, scroll down to Day 14, Friday August 22 and click the word Live (to the right of Cuba vs. United States). The game may also be viewed after its conclusion at the same site by clicking on Rewind after the game is archived.

The U.S. Cuba contest will also be shown on a tape-delayed basis on MSNBC (channel 39 in San Diego) at 11:00 a.m. Pacific time.
