Baseball To Face Padre Minor Leaguers
March 31, 2000 SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State baseball team will take a break from its regular-season schedule when it hosts the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Sunday, April 2, at Tony Gwynn Stadium on the SDSU campus. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The Quakes are the single-A team of the San Diego Padres and compete in the California League. Rancho Cucamonga is managed by second-year skipper Tom LeVasseur, a former Aztec shortstop who played for SDSU Coach Jim Dietz during the team's WAC championship season of 1986. LeVasseur was drafted by the San Diego Padres after that season and reached the AAA level in the Padre organization. Ticket prices for Sunday's game are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth (14 and under), seniors (55 and up), military with ID, and SDSU faculty and staff. Children under six are admitted free of charge.
