San Diego - San Diego State pitcher Chris Dunwell has been named the Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week. He picked up the award for his performance in last Friday's 2-1 Aztec victory over Air Force.

In that game, Dunwell notched his third consecutive win to improve his record to 3-2. The junior from El Cajon (Granite Hills HS) threw eight innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run. He retired the side in order in five of his eight innings as he shut down an Air Force team that came into the contest with a team batting average of .345.

San Diego continues conference play this week with a three-game series at Brigham Young beginning Thursday (March 21) at 7:00 p.m. (MST) in Provo.
