San Diego - Single-day passes for the 2004 Aztec Invitational at PETCO Park will go on sale this Saturday, February 7, at PETCO Park. Fans can purchase passes at the new ballpark beginning at 10:00 a.m. with ticket windows open until 4:00 p.m. that day. Tickets may also be bought over the phone that day by calling the Padres Ticket Office at 1-877-FRIAR-TIX.

Individual ticket prices for each day of the four-day Invitational are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Four-day passes are available at a cost of $50 and $30, respectively. A VIP seating package is also available for $200.

The four-day event features the University of Houston, Long Beach State University, the University of Nebraska and UCLA in addition to University of San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene and UC San Diego as well as the host Aztecs.

The Invitational opens on Thursday, March 11, when San Diego State will take on Houston in the first-ever contest at PETCO Park. The Aztecs and Cougars will attempt to break the all-time collegiate single-game attendance mark of 27,673 set by Louisiana State University and Tulane at the Louisiana Superdome during the 2002 college baseball season.

Tickets for the opener guarantee reserved seating with passes for the other three days being sold on a general admission basis. Thus far, over 6,500 four-day passes have been sold.

"We're looking forward to the Invitational and four great days of college baseball in a great new facility," said SDSU head coach and former Padre standout Tony Gwynn. "We're well on our way to breaking the collegiate attendance record in our first game against Houston. There has been a great deal of interest from the public about purchasing single-day passes and hopefully fans will get out starting this Saturday and get their tickets for this event."

Single-day passes may also be purchased beginning Monday (Feb. 9) at the Aztec Ticket Office by going to Window G at Qualcomm Stadium or by calling (619) 283-SDSU. Invitational four-day passes are available at the SDSU Athletic website (www.goaztecs.com).

Fans desiring to purchase tickets in person at PETCO Park will find parking available in the D1/D2 lot on the corner of Imperial and Park Boulevard. Since the area is still an active construction site, fans may only access the ticket windows through the temporary PETCO Park Imperial Avenue gate (directions below), parking in the D1/D2 lot just across Park Boulevard from the ticket windows

FROM THE NORTH Take Interstate 5 South; Exit Imperial Avenue (West), which will lead directly to the temporary PETCO Park Imperial Avenue gate. Take 163 South; Exit 10th Avenue; Left on G Street; Right onto 14th Street; Right on Imperial Avenue to the temporary PETCO Park Imperial Avenue gate.
