Tall right-hander who is expected to contribute this season both as a potential starter and out of the bullpen ... Competed for the Kelowna Falcons of the West Coast Collegiate League during summer 2011 ... Made nine starts (69.2 innings) and finished with a 2.44 earned run average ... Played for the Quincy Gems (Quincy, Ill.) of the Prospect League in the summer of 2010... Went 1-2 with a 4.19 earned run averagein three starts and two relief appearances ... Picked up the victory in SDSU's win over No. 14 California on March 4 ... .Went seven innings, allowing a run on four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts ... .Retired 13 of the final 14 hitters he faced including 11 in a row from the third through sixth innings ... His seven strikeouts in that contest tied his career high which he set in his previous outing vs. University of San Diego on Feb. 25 ...
