Was granted a redshirt year in 2012 after breaking his leg early in the season ... Is expected to resume action at the catching position and as a designated hitter after a solid freshman season behind the plate when he started half of SDSU's contests in that role.

SAN DIEGO STATE 2012
Suffered a broken leg during practice after the fourth game of the season and redshirted for the Aztecs ... Started three of SDSU's first four contests, two at catcher and one at designated hitter ... Recorded a double and triple among his six base hits .. Scored two runs in the season opener vs. Washington (Feb. 17) with a season-high three hits.

SAN DIEGO STATE 2011
Started 27 times behind the plate during his first season at SDSU and seven times in the DH role ... Also made one start in left field ... Reached base safely (hit, walk or HBP) in 14 consecutive games (Feb. 27 to March 19) with base hits in 11 of those contests before failing to do so in the series finale against New Mexico on March 20 ... Put together a personal-best six-game hitting streak that ended on March 15 in the game at Loyola Marymount ... .During that streak he went 10-for-24 (.417) with three doubles, a home run and eight runs batted in ... Won two varsity letters at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego ... Named the team captain for coach Sam Blalock's Broncos in 2009 and 2010 ...
