Started 27 times behind the plate during his first season at SDSU and seven times in the DH role ... Also made one start in left field ... Reached base safely (hit, walk or HBP) in 14 consecutive games (Feb. 27 to March 19) with base hits in 11 of those contests before failing to do so in the series finale against New Mexico on March 20 ...
