Came to San Diego State in 2007 after one season at Long Beach State where he walked on for the 2006 season ... Did not appear in any games for the 49ers, redshirting as a true freshman ... Has the ability to play second, third and shortstop as well as all three outfield positions ... Competed for the Kitsap Bluejackets (Bremerton, Wash.) in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League during the summers of 2007 and 2008 ... His four RBI in that contest were a personal season best and tied his career high (four at Air Force in 2007) ... Set a career-high with four hits in a game twice: vs. Utah on April 12 and at UNLV on April 20 ... Had at least one hit in 24 of the team's final 27 contests ... During his first season as an Aztec, made 20 appearances in the outfield and played second base on four occasions ... Was the starter in left field in the season-opening series at Cal Poly ... In first collegiate game for SDSU, went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI ... Following that contest, went 31 at bats without a base hit ... Broke out of slump on March 22 at Air Force when he hit a three-run bases-loaded double in his only at bat late in the game ... The next day, went 2-for-5 with four runs batted in against the Falcons including a three-run home run, the first of his career ... In addition to playing in both left and right fields (total of 20 games), also appeared at second base in four contests and was the designated hitter on six occasions ...
