Had a career-best 20-game hitting streak, the longest by an Aztec, from April 9 to May 10 ... Was the longest streak by an SDSU player since Quintin Berry hit safely in 27 straight contests during the 2005 season ... During the streak, went 36-for-87 (.414) with five doubles, a home run, 20 runs scored and 19 runs batted in ... Hit his lone home run of the year at Brigham Young on May 10 ... His four RBI in that contest were a season best and tied his career high (four at Air Force in 2007) ... Set a career-high with four hits in a game twice: vs. Utah on April 12 and at UNLV on April 20 ... Had at least one hit in 24 of the team's final 27 contests ... Had his first career triple at Cal State Fullerton on May 15 ... In Mountain West Conference play, batted .382 with 22 runs scored in 21 games.

During his first season as an Aztec, made 20 appearances in the outfield and played second base on four occasions ... Was the starter in left field in the season-opening series at Cal Poly ... In first collegiate game for SDSU, went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI ... Following that contest, went 31 at bats without a base hit ... Broke out of slump on March 22 at Air Force when he hit a three-run bases-loaded double in his only at bat late in the game ... The next day, went 2-for-5 with four runs batted in against the Falcons including a three-run home run, the first of his career ... In addition to playing in both left and right fields (total of 20 games), also appeared at second base in four contests and was the designated hitter on six occasions ... As a pinch hitter seven times, went 3-for-6 with a double, a walk and three RBI ... Scored four times in eight pinch-running appearances.
Earned three varsity letters in baseball and two in basketball at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, Calif. ... Played baseball there for coach James Davis, a former Aztec pitcher ... Was a two-time first-team all-Grossmont South League pick in baseball ... Batted .396 with 39 runs, 18 steals and a .695 on-base percentage as a senior and was named Granite Hills' most inspirational player ... Hit .436 with 22 steals, 49 runs and a .515 on-base percentage as a junior and was selected team's most improved player ... Was also named second-team all-CIF as a senior and finished third in the Grossmont District Home Run Derby with 16 in 2005 ...
