SAN DIEGO - San Diego State Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Aztec Sports Properties, announced today that MRC will be the newest athletics partner primed to kick off a multi-year deal.
This marks the first time the locally based Xerox company has partnered with the Aztecs in what will be an integrated sponsorship across multiple sports, launching concurrently with the 2012-13 football season. During Aztec Football, MRC will have a major presence on the radio broadcasts, as well some prominent in-stadium signage. The company also will title sponsor the Skyshow game on October 6, when SDSU faces Hawaii at 5 p.m.
Additionally, MRC will receive numerous sponsor benefits throughout the agreement including visibility on the official athletics' website, GoAztecs.com; promotional engagement with fans; hospitality; signage and radio integration. In the coming months, MRC also will unveil its specific plans and promotions as it relates to serving as presenting sponsor of the 2012-13 Aztec Men's Basketball season.
"We are extremely excited to be a presenting sponsor for San Diego State Athletics. Many of our employees are Aztec Alums, and we're excited to expand that existing linkage. This new partnership creates a real win-win for MRC and the Aztec sports community. As a locally based company, acquired by Xerox, we are looking forward to a great season - Go Aztecs!" said Bob Leone, president of MRC, Smart Technology Solutions, a Xerox Company.
"We are thrilled to have MRC join Aztec Athletics as a valued partner," said San Diego State University Athletic Director Jim Sterk. "Their presence will be felt both on and off the field as they have made a sizable investment in our programs. We look forward to building a great partnership with MRC and San Diego State."
