SAN DIEGO - San Diego State athletics and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) are teaming up with Embrace for the first ever blanket drive. Blankets will be collected at the final men's home basketball game Saturday night and will be distributed to San Diego area homeless.

Fans are encouraged to drop off new or slightly used blankets at the men's basketball contest March 7, at Cox Arena. Fans can bring blankets to the front entrance of the arena beginning one hour prior to the game and through the first 20 minutes of the game.

"This is a great opportunity to do something good for a lot of people less fortunate than us," SAAC vice president and baseball student-athlete Josh Chasse said. "It is an honor for our athletic program and SAAC to be able to be support the drive."

San Diego State (20-8 overall; 10-5 Mountain West Conference), which recorded its fourth straight 20-win season on Wednesday, puts a lid on the regular season with a home contest against UNLV (21-8; 9-6) on Senior Night this Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.
